WHAT'S FOR DINNER: Beef 'n' Beer, St Patrick's Day, meatballs and more

This week on What’s For Dinner? we put the spotlight on some great St Patrick’s Day recipes, including the delicious Beef’n’Beer stew. We also share some of our favourite meatball recipes - and barbecue tips!

Incredible flavour and tenderness

St. Patrick's Day is coming up next Tuesday and we think it's well worth celebrating everything Irish with a special meal. When you slow-cook the beef in beer, it develops a nutty flavour and mouth-watering tenderness. Some lovely roast veggies will go nicely with that, so you could add a delicious and seasonal roasted pear and parsnip salad or a few golden and crispy roast potatoes.

Cooking tips: A darker, full-bodied beer will make for a very rich sauce. The choice of beer is very much down to your personal taste.

Barbecue Basics

Make the best of the last days of summer by trying your hand at low 'n' slow barbecue. In our Barbecue Basics series, which can now be found on Play Stuff, BBQ expert Matt Melville from Rum & Que BBQ and butcher Reuben Sharples, a member of the Hellers Sharp Blacks, explain the process of cooking a slab of sirloin from start to finish.
